Not A Choice

Because she doesn't see what we do.

FAT-TALK-FREE FEBRUARY

Eating disorders are a serious mental illness with a high mortality rate. It is not a diet gone wrong.

No one chooses to have an Eating Disorder. The stereotype of an emaciated teenage girl creates more stigma and shame. EDs affect people of all genders, ages, and sizes. You can't look at a person and automatically know that they have an ED. And if you do know someone has an ED, you can't assume their symptoms based on how they look.

If you think that you or someone you know has an Eating Disorder, you can visit http://nedic.ca/  or look up your local ED information centre.
